First impressions are important

The main OMRON letters consists of 2 metre high built up aluminium letters, stove painted to Pantone 300C.  This permanent sign is securely fixed with internal brackets at a height of about 3 metres.

The 'strap line' below the main lettering consists of computer cut plastic lettering, fixed to the metal clad warehouse by means of high bond double-sided foam tape.  It was envisaged that this line of text might be replaced at some point in the future, in which case it will be possible to remove the lettering without leaving a 'peppering' of holes on the side of the warehouse.

London's busy North Circular Road is subject to several planning constraints concerning advertising and signage.  Handling this aspect of the project, including the submission of plans and scaled drawings illustrating the position, size and appearance of the proposed sign, is all part of the service we offer to our clients.

One of the concerns with the application was the lighting.  The local authority was concerned that the amount of light should fall within specific values of luminence (expressed in units of candela) which are laid down within the constraints of their planning guidelines.  Working in conjuction with the lamp manufacturer we meet these constraints and ensure that the lighting is well within these limits.

Using sophisticated computer software we can also guage the effect of the number and position of lamps to anticipate their effect upon the sign.

Full scale templates are used during fixing to ensure that the placing of the logo and lettering exactly matches that which has been designed on the computer.
